A social practice platform for artists, designers, writers & assorted projects
in the developing world.

While we update our website with all the projects of 2014, here's a GIF for you to stare at, from Hardworking Goodlooking, the design studio and publishing arm of The Office of Culture and Design. The studio designs and produces books, virtual and printed collateral, objects and all sorts of other stuff that represent the results of our own experiments (and those of others). This year's crop of HWGL books were shown in premiere to 30,000 people at the 2014 New York Art Book Fair, held at MoMA PS1 every year by Printed Matter. Currently, HWGL is in the process of re-imagining the OCD website, printing second editions of books that have sold out and making friends with new collaborators who will help keep the OCD boat afloat. So if you want post-postcolonial extravaganza design for anything, do call us. You may sleep easier knowing you hired a studio that helps keep cultural social practice alive in the Philippines.

Hello, is a one-image online gallery. The works are provided by our friends and collaborators. We keep the works up for as long as we like. We do not keep any record of past exhibits, including but not limited to certificates of authenticity, downloadable artworks, supporting texts and original copies not previously uploaded to another server by the artist. If you click on the navigation menu link that says Hello, it will take you nowhere. If you click on the image, it will take you to the artist. If you click on this, you will get a beautifully scented flowering tree, with the stinkiest giant seeds ever, called Couroupita guianensis.
